The user who want to make his/her files private have to mark My documents as Private ... here is how :

To make your folders private
Open My Computer.
Double-click the drive where Windows is installed (usually drive (C:), unless you have more than one drive on your computer).
If the contents of the drive are hidden, under System Tasks, click Show the contents of this drive.

Double-click the Documents and Settings folder.
Double-click your user folder.
Right-click any folder in your user profile, and then click Properties.
On the Sharing tab, select the Make this folder private so that only I have access to it check box.

In the Control Panel, open User accounts and use a password and set your account to private.

Then, create a password for her and give it to her.

And always use passwords when logging in to Windoze.

Click on the Help Tab in User Accounts for more info. Read up on Limited Accounts for more options.

technically, this is an impossibility, since someone has to be the local administrator of the PC. so that person will have access to every file stored on it.

i recommend that shared PCs not store private data. get a usb hard disk drive each and save your files there. of course, for this to work, you have to actually plug in your usb hard disk each time you want to access your private files and unplug it after use, and to keep it in a private access storage (eg locked drawer which only you have the key/combination).

Reboot your laptop. formerly the domicile windows brand seems, press f8 till a service menu pops up. between the suggestions could be "secure mode". enter it. Log in as "Administrator". hopefully there will be no password, or you a minimum of bear in mind the password from there. bypass into administration Panel, get entry to consumer debts, and alter the password of the account you forgot to a minimum of something you will bear in mind. and be certain you do not ignore your "Administrator" password, in case you place one. the only thank you to restoration that's to reinstall domicile windows. that's purely tedious, yet there's a thank you to do it without formatting your hard drive, so do not difficulty too plenty.
