the weight of bricks is more concentrated in less space, and they have harder and sharper edges
the weight of feathers would be more spread out, so the whole ton probably wouldn't all be on just a part of my body like a ton of bricks would, the pressure is less with feathers because its spread out over more area, over my whole body and the floor around me too. A ton of bricks is just a fraction, 3/4 of a bundle, about 3' x 3' x 2 1/2 '. It would sprain a muscle, bruise, or even break a bone, but it wouldn't cover my whole adult body. Feathers would just be a sore inconvenience, so its the less harmful of 2 choices.

On an advert-hoc foundation, the two might seem to be a similar, yet... extrapolating the information, consistent with a mass density for a given volume, the bricks will weigh extra.. although, in case you carried out your test in a '0 gravity' ecosystem, neither might weigh something or maybe with the undeniable fact that mass density will become irrelevant, the feathers have a mass density closer to 0 for their given volume than do the bricks.. In any adventure, the important component to think approximately, is which might you prefer to have dropped on your head.. A ton bricks, or a ton of feathers...... i think of feathers might come out as a company (or consistent with probability no so company.!) winner.?

Ton of feathers. As long as it wasn't dropped at the same time where as a single brick could give you a nice goose egg.

As long as the feathers were not packed together making a solid mass, I'd go with the feathers.

both weigh the same but I would definately go for the feathers.. at least I can 'console' myself before the hitting seconds by saying.. "Relax, Its just feathers!"

feathers i guess because they are softer although it probably wouldn't matter at all, it just sounds nicer, but the person that said that they would weigh less is an idiot.
