You don't need to stop swaddling your son unless he is showing a preference to not being swaddled.
If the weather warms up also I would not swaddle tightly or with a thicker wrap. Just use 100% cotton muslin. He will start to outgrow the blankets/wraps and swaddling will become a problem then so keep doing it for as long as you can and only stop when its physically not possible because he doesn't fit round blankets or he doesn't want to anymore.

Otherwise swaddling is great and usually helps babies have a much more rested sleep.

best of luck

Take your cues from your son, he will let you know what he needs. My son was swaddled until he was almost 2 years old, from memory. Most of the time I used a cotton sheet.

At 3 months my little guy still LOVES to be swaddled. With it being so hot...I was using the thin receiving blankets but then they got too small. Regular cotton was to binding for him so I found jersey knit. I actually cut up to top sheet of a jersey knit sheet set to make ones that are big enough for him.

my baby is 10mths old 2day, i still swaddle her in a sheet, its the only way she will sleep soundly!!!
if i leave her unwrapped she will keep moving and pull all the blankets over her, then cry
when i swaddle her she just lays there and sleeps within a few minutes

When he doesn't like it anymore and squirms to get out of it. As long as he enjoys being swaddled do it. It's comforting.

I went for my son's 2 month check up yesterday and hsi doctor said the best time to stop is around 4 months. He said the baby needs to learn to sleep without it and also needs to stretch his legs out for proper growth. Remember the longer you wait the harder it MAY be. Good luck!

Once they are past that whole newborn stage. I would say when they are about 2 or 3 months old.

There's no age that you should stop wrapping him, he will let you know when he doesn't like it anymore
