guess some of you took the 'nuts' thing a bit over board!!
I just asked this coz ive noticed some plain ordinary ppl who hv certain weird/bizarre habit!!

I count the syllables in sentences that I hear. I started that around twelve years old as a method to remember things in school as the teacher spoke them. It became more frustrating as I became bored with that and started to add the syllables in each sentence, paragraph by paragraph, or as I imagined it would be separated into paragraphs had it been written, rather than spoken. Breaking that down further, I add the total sum of each paragraph, then divide by eight. (why eight, I don't remember) This results in a numeric value that has syllables. This number is then reduced to the amount of syllables in it's spoken form, which lends a numeric value to the whole conversation. By the time I get to that part, it's harder to remember the exact conversation word for word, which was the whole point of it. The most I've gotten out of it is the knowledge that people speak in inexplicably long run-on sentences.

That is the sign of compulsive behavior. Sometimes I feel like I'm totally nuts. And, it's OK with me. Actually it's sorta fun to indulge in bizarre behavior.
