I'd have to agree with most of the people above, and say Unforgiven. I also really liked A Fistful of Dollars, Pale Rider, and Open Range.

tough call, the searchers, stage coach, red river, high noon and the great train robbery are all great and important films of the western genre, but me personally i like tombstone, true grit, and the cowboys
