My niece asked..and I had no clue...I told her it was so our eyes didnt go up to our forehead....i know that's not right..but what was i to say??

A group named The Thompson Twins (actually a trio) shaved off their eyebrows just for a different "New Wave" look. During their first concert, they realized what eyebrows are good for: keeping sweat out of eyes! They said that it was really hard to keep performing when their eyes started hurting so much due to perspiration.
So, that's a good reason to have them!

Well, the funny answer here is so that women can wax them or guys (some of us) can pluck them. The true answer is that we have eye brows the same reason we have hair anywhere. Our eyebrows capture dirt, dust and other "irritants" that would otherwise filter their ways down into our eyes and cause us problems.

Women need something to pluck and socially inept nerds need something to connect between their eyes.
Actually if you go back to when we worked for our food and shelter...we sweat and it acts as a barrier or "fur headband" if you will...to stop moisture, dirt and dust from rolling down into our eyes. If our sweat was just water no biggie, but it is salty and it iritates the eyes...just another cool thing about the human body.

those of us with eyebrow(s) are lucky... there are some with just a single eyebrow... it helps to keep the sweat from dripping off the end of their nose as well as helping to keep it out of their eyes!
