That sounds good. My baby loved balls, rattles and a play gym.

Well the baby won't necessarily remember the gift, so it doesn't need to be big. It can be some sort of stuffed animal, a blanket thats super soft, a character thats cute (Elmo, Big Bird, or another cartoon). Babies like to feel things, so something that they can touch and "play" with is always good! It can also be something like clothes or really nice baby bath products (something that the mom might benefit out of more). Hope this helps!

Sounds good to me. I would ask mom about size she would rather get or if there was something she needs you know she may have a lot of onesies but no pants or shoes and the teething ring great cause it is almost that time babies love things that they can put in there mouths with out mom pulling out and saying no to. Good luck.

that isn't a bad gift but a little boring and more for the mother than the baby. He isn't going to be old enough to remember so you don't have to get anything big or expensive but something like a bounce-bounce tigger or tickle me elmo will have him laughing, touching and interacting with it. Just because he is only 6mths old doesn't mean he can't play yet. Something that talks or plays a tune is always a great gift for a child of this age to look at and be stimulated from.

That's a PERFECT gift. I was going to suggest clothing and a little teething ring is perfect. Make sure that the clothing is 12 months size or more. I always appreciated the larger sizes. Be sure to ask the mom about sizes. She may have larger sizes stowed away and may be in need of certain sizes. :)

That sounds good. One thing I was planning on getting my baby for her first Christmas was one of those Fisher Price Aquarium thingies that you put in their crib. I think they are around $20-$30 and are super cute. That could be an idea for you, too :)

if you don't have much money to spend on a gift, that would be fine. besides, if there only 5-6 months old, they really don't understand Christmas any way.
