this guy knows i'm a virgin and i was trying to be discreet when i asked a girl for a pad since i was on my period-anywho she asked me why i dont wear a tampon and i said its because a tampon hurts and i said it in a low voice but this guy that knows i'm a virgin was curious to know what we were talking about and has told him i dont wear tampons and he said " have you tried wearing a tampon before because i think you must have torn your hymen by using it" and he said in front of that girl i asked for a pad and he said it with a grin on his face-so was he trying to look out for my best interest or what?

He was being rude.You should of talked to the girl in private. Too late now so just stay away from him.
Back in my mom's day, the 1940's,women could only get pads in a pharmacy and the way it was done was, First you waited until there was only a lady clerk around,no men in the area.You had to actually hand her a note with what you wanted written down.She went into the back room and brought it out for you in a paper bag so no one could happen to see it even with all of the secert codes ect. going on.
Nowdays it is all over the TV and billboards and little kids even know what they are for.
Just thought I would give you a short history lesson.

He was being immature. Why don't you make an appointment with your doctor and he can check your hymen and instruct you on how to insert a tampon. You may have been using too big of one. Try a smaller size. But may sure you change it every couple of hours so that you don't get toxic shock syndrome..
