Good physics answers, but not so good engineering answers. If you give me a 6 decimal place number you are saying that you know the value to one part in one million. And so on. And, in engineering, you pay for each decimal place. A 1% measurement is commonplace, a 0.1% is getting expensive, a 0.01% is raising a few eyebrows and some proof of reality is needed. Beyond that and we smell smoke and mirrors. Rule of thumb is if you can't describe how you would measure it, you can't claim it.

Further, you are not allowed to keep any more digits in the answer than you have in the least accurace component. That comes from basic math.

In 1kilometer there are 39 370.0787 inches. So convert it, 40 008km= 39 370.0787in / 1km. the unit kilometer will cancel out leaving the inch unit. Multiply 40 008 with 39 370.0787 then divide it by one. Therefore the circumference of earth in inches is 1 575 118 109 inches. Since the formula for circumference is 2(3.1416 x r) you can solve the radius. r= 1 575 118 109 divided by 2(3.1416). Therefore r is equal to 250 687 833 inches..

Of course the constant motion of the planet earth would create a constant variable answer

If there are 39.3700787 inches to the metre and there are 1000 metres to the Kilometre then You simply multiply and get the answer.

40,008 x 1,000 x 39.3700787 =

That's as the crow flies!
