YES grant monies are for real -- but not in the way that most people (often scammers) portray it to be
The government is NOT in the business of giving away free money for the sake of giving away money. There are no grants for paying bills, no grants for paying off credit cards, no grants for getting out of debt and no grants for simply fattening your wallet.
Grants are free, but it means OBLIGATION. You will be obligated to do as the grant sets out to do. Grants have objectives, and your purpose must fit the objective of the grant.
For one, you have to write the grant application and the grant application is not a simple document - you have to explain how your purpose for applying for the grant fits well with the objectives set out by the grant.
There is a stringent review process through a committee. You will compete with other applicants for the grant money, and this grant review committee will evaluate the merits of each proposal. Only those that they feel exemplifies the objective of the grant will be approved.
You can go to the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) http://www.cfda.gov and Grants.gov http://www.grants.gov - these are two sites created by the federal government to provide transparency and information on grants. Browse through the listings and see if you can find any grant that would support your purposes.
Even if you buy books on "how to get grants" or list that supposedly has information on grants -- all of them are mere rehash of what CFDA has, albeit packaged differently.
Note though that these grants generally support non-profit organizations, intermediary lending institutions, and state and local governments. Most of the federal grants are given to specific target groups with specific requirements (e.g. minority business owners involved in transportation related contracts emanating from DOT - Grant#20.905 Disadvantaged Business Enterprises Short Term Lending Program. Individuals especially for personal purposes are not eligible for federal grants.
Grants are also often given to non profit groups or organizations involved in training or other similar activities (grant 59.043 Women's Business Ownership Assistance that are given to those who will create women's business center that will train women entrepreneurs

There is all kinds of free money. If you're talking college, I have been told that there is so much unapplied for money out there. If you are low income, a minority, or have spectacular grades, you can get free money. But, there is free money out there for so many other things.
If you are running a non-profit, there are tons of grants to accomplish those things you have wanted to do but money is a problem.
Just get on the internet and look. Never pay for a list of grants when you can find them yourself. Many lists you pay for are rip offs so don't do it. There used to be a book in the library for grants for college and there was a federally funded place across from my first college and they helped me apply for pell grants and then had a computer full of grants with all kinds of strange requirements. I got several for small amounts but my idol was a high school girl that applied and won four major scholarships for all four years complete. Because she had so many the other three gave her cash to help her along in lieu of paying for classes.
I didn't pay a dime to get through four years of college but I did get very high grades.

Yeah, and that i've got have been given some ocean front factors in Arizona to sell you. This sounds "too stable to be genuine" and is probably a scam. A "grant" is money you do no longer ought to pay decrease back.... A "mortgage" you do ought to pay decrease back... It seems such as you have been authorized for is a private loan... yet be careful.... loans do no longer require you to have money up front. (you recognize, like once you borrowed to purchase a vehicle). So this could nicely be a great *scam alert* to me. you ought to purpose your close by Vocational Rehabilitation centers place of work to make sure. (this could nicely be a official state company that assists those with disabilities, perhaps between the advisors has heard of this "grant"). you ought to ask this 'company' to deduct the 5 hundred out of the a hundred and twenty,000 - yet i think they are going to refuse. additionally, be careful of the information you gave out... identity theft is rampant and in case you gave out very own information and economic employer account numbers you ought to alter right into a sufferer. If all else fails, and the corporate continues to be insisting it relatively is a "grant" you do no longer ought to pay decrease back, you ought to purpose close by regulation enforcement or the close by information station might have extra information. stable success.

BEWARE, and do your homework! I tried one out of the newspaper, and they almost took my money! I had to go to the Attorney General to get it back! Try calling the Better Business Burearu- maybe even on-line the www.BBB.com, even try .org! You can also ask your library for information on How to find Grants! Also, check the colleges, and even the Attorney Generals Office! My best to you!
