The PS3 doesn't have hardware problems, but it could have overheated if there wasn't enough ventilation for the PS3. I haven't had any problems with my PS3 and I've had it since late December of last year and I play games for over 3 hours without problems.

Hmm... Not really sure why that would happen.
The only advice I could give is to check all of your connections.
Also check your breakers and see if one blew out overnight.
It could be something simple.... or it could be something really bad...
My 360 kind of had a similar problem cause of hardware failure...
If thats the case, your ps3 may still be under warranty. If thats the case then you can probably go and exchange it.

dunno, you should get a 360 or wii instead.
