Neither. While in the military, I served 3 years at sea. One time while in the northern Pacific we faced 80 foot seas. I had no fear of that, even though the depth of the water was well-beyond 3 miles deep. Ocean liners are well-equipped with survival suits for all passengers, and sufficient lifeboat space to accommodate passengers and crew. This I know. They also have outstanding means of communication that in the days of the Titanic, did not exist. As far as an aircraft, falling 45,000 feet would be terrifying to me. I'd start to panic once I saw the oxygen masks drop down to don. I'd just be either finishing the Lord's Prayer or dumping out my underwear before the crash!!! I'd be more favorable to an ocean liner.

I love both, but If I were to be more nervous on any of them, it would be a Commercial Airline, because if the plane goes down, so do I. At least with an ocean liner, I would have the chance to get into a life boat.

Commercial airline--I used to fly across the Atlantic Ocean back and forth between the USA and Europe over and over in the 1980's and the early 1990's up until 9/11. Then I became too frightened to fly anymore. It angers me that I have let this happen because that is one of the major things that the terrorist want is for the airlines to fold and go bankrupt.

Riding a commercial airline. Falling from the sky hurts alot worse than drowning in an ocean full of sharks.

I'm more scared of airliners. If a boat sinks, at least it is on the surface of the earth and you have a chance of survival. In an airliner your are thousands of feet above the surface and if it crashes your chances of survival are slim to none.
