When I got home from school today, I noticed that my betta made a bubble nest. After looking at my betta more carefully, I realized that his fins are falling apart as well. What does this mean? He seems to be acting normal.

If I do a water change, I'll ruin his bubble nest. Does that matter?

Forget medications. The best thing you can do right now is give him clean water. The bubble nest isn't important, he will just blow a new one. In a bowl or unfiltered tank, it should be getting 2+ cleanings a week, so that is probably your main problem. Poor water quality in unfiltered tanks lead to a "melting" fins (fin rot). To heal his fins back up, give him clean water and small amounts of aquarium salt (not saltwater salt, freshwater mineral salt). This will prevent infection and boost his immune system to heal him more rapidly. Email me if you have any questions.

Probably fin rot, go to the pet store and get some drops for your tank. I like Metafix it works without staining your tank.

Maybe he's sick. You should look online for a website with legitimate information on Beta so that you can figure this out.
