Yes, I have felt this way. You can get yourself out of it.
All you have to do is center yourself. In other words, bring yourself into the present moment. You do this by becoming aware of what's around you at the precise moment.
What do you see? What do you hear? What do you smell?
How does you body feel?
Place your hand on your heart and feel your heart beat. Think of something that makes you feel calm- such ocean waves gently rolling in and out, or your cat sitting next to you purring, the warmth of a new born baby as you hold the precious bundle next to your skin, etc, - anything that makes you feel calm. Feel your heart beat and take deep breaths.
