Ok so my husbands name is Lars and my name is Erica so we kind of want to keep up th tradition and give our kids scandinavian first names so what do you think of Hendrick James McBride?

I love Hendrick! I say its a keeper! What does your husband think? If you two agree, then go for it! I think it's a beautiful name and you really dont hear it all that often!

i myself like the name, but remember the teasing factor in school, or the reactions others may have.kids can be cruel, even with a more common name.im not putting down the name at all, im just trying to give good sound advice.

Will he be nicknamed Henry, because if he is ...I feel sorry for the poor kid..Henrick is not a cool name that I like( what comes to mind is The Heimlich Manuver)..sorry...why don't you just call him Eric James..that's a very strong masculine name...

I like unusual names for children but try to imagine what kind of nicknames he will be given before you name him. You dont want him to be teased or hate you for it in the long run.
