Sacajawe helped the expedition throught the northwest territory to the Pacific Ocean.

Which corps?
The indians were guides to the conquistadors in Colorado and other states, they fought with the british "corps" in 1812 and 1770's.
The most important thing was in world war two, when we needed codes to communicate. We broke the German code machine and stuff, but what we needed was something to use on the ground; you can't keep a code straight when you're being shot at. So, Native Americans went to the Pacific theater with radios and talked to each other in Navajo. The Japanese, who knew English, couldn't make head or tail of this!
