I bought one of those breeding nets...just not sure when I should be moving her into it.

Any telltale signs to watch for??

You know I absolutely hate those nets. Do you have a fish bowl or something else you could use that has not been washed out with soap. If you do then I would put her in there. When the the birth canal get redish and the males start to pick at that part, you know it almost time and you need to move her. When she has her fry, then move her to the net so she can relax for a few days. I would suggest getting fry food for the babies as they wont start eating flakes right away. Only feed the mom a lil bit. After a couple of days put them mom back in the tank and move the fry to the nets if they are not in a bowl. If they are in a bowl leave them there until they are about a half an inch. Hope this helps.

Careful observation and experience. And don't go trying to net her or move her,you'll only kill her or the fry or both.

when u no it is pregnant wait for 2 weeks the stick it in the net.If you net ant plastic then get one

definitely watch the swollen stomach!
if its really big, and have some black dots around, then she's actually ready to deliver.
however, remember to be gentle when putting her away.
