I like the look of dandelions and daisies on my lawn, and they attract bees and butterflies.

I like dandelions as well. I think they are pretty and loads of fun. What I absolutely hate is Bermuda grass. It doesn't matter what I use in my flowers beds to keep it out because it is always there. It grows through, around, under, and on top of most anything. I wish I could just get rid of it all.
Thanks for letting me vent.

Weeds can be any plant you don't like. I don't hate dandelions or the wild flowers that get into my lawn. If my neighbors didn't get so upset by them I probably wouldn't care about them at all. I only use weed control to keep the neighbors some what pacified. As long as a lawn is mowed regularly, green and free of trash, I think it looks fine no matter where that green is coming from. It could include clover, pig-weed, wild pansies, daisy's,or dandelions. The only thing I do not like would be stickers, thistle, itch weed, poison ivy, oak or sumac because they do not like me (ha! ha!).

I have a plant that 'volunteered' in one of my front yard beds- I thought it was a salvia, but it turned out to be what I think is wild quinine (feverfew). It's a gorgeous plant, smells wonderful and attracts butterflies, honeybees and bumblebees. I've had more comments on that plant- and it's a weed.

I don't care for a lot of weeds, but this plant certainly adds a great bit of interest to my garden.

not a fan of dandelions, though- sorry.

A weed is something that grows where you didnt plant it.
No I love weeds, considering that the flowers look nice, but more importantly that the garden patch probably has more cigarette butts in it than weeds, which are much easier to deal with.

Actually, a daisy is a flower and a dandelion is a wildflower. If you like them, that's sweet, because you can enjoy the birds and the bees.

If there weren't weeds in the garden to pull, I would spend much less time playing in the dirt. dirt is good. play is good. Weeds must be good by association.

Most domesticated plants were once wild (weeds) that were nurtured....another plus for weeds. Cool question.

Except for the "goathead/ sandspur" they get to die, I SHALL walk barefoot in my front yard!
