I've recently received a couple money chain-type letters, basically you make copies of the letter, send $1 to the six people on the list, get names off of a mailing list, and send out the letters to as many people as you like (they usually say at least 200). I've done something similar as a gag with friends with underwear, you send out 1 pair, and get about six back, so it's the same type of concept. Anyone know what I'm talking about or given it a try?

Chain letters have been a scam for a long time. It's illegal to send them through the US Postal Service.

Remember the old maxim: if it sounds too good to be true, it is.

Don't trust get rich quick schemes, especially those from strangers.

Scams and ripoffs. If you don't mind losing some money give it a try. Normally you simply lose all your money. I am sure it's possible some suckers could send you some money. But I would not hold my breath waiting for the mail man.

Good Luck.

Well, as a concept they should work ... that is, if the chainletter continues forever, and the people that you send it to want to do it ... otherwise you'll get nothing. They have to stop somewhere dont they. Its just a big triangle of people wanting ome money for doing. I'm not game to try it.

I have never tried them but I have taken reports of some cases where people got ripped off big time. I would not recommend you send money to anyone.

They're all scams...chain-letters have been around for ages. Don't do them with people you don't know, but family or friends would be ok.

Anytime you send money to strangers, don't expect to get money back.
