I was wondering how do I make a registration application? What are some things that I should ask on there? Should there be a Terms of Condition/Agreement with the application or should that be signed based on wheather or not I provide my service. Should I include a price list?

My most important question really is, "How do I make the application?"

First of all, i suggest you reseach what other day care centrea are doing. Perhaps go in to several centres and act like you are making an enquiry for your child. Ask them for in formation pack including all the information needed to consider when placing your child in day care.

See how that goes. Make sure you cover the child's medical history of allergies and illness.

Good luck! I think its a great idea

That's a profound idea, however, it sounds too good to be true. You are asking some very basic questions, which leads me to believe that you don't have a lot of experience with this.

Can I suggest that you work for someone else (for at least a few months) as a child care provider so that you can learn these fundamentals?

24-Hour child care would be fantastic!! You need to be aware of any pitfalls, however. Why aren't there more 24-hour home based child care facilities? I suspect there are important answers to this question.

Make sure to charge a premium price, because you'll have people from five counties knocking on your door and you may not be aware of all the hidden costs and risks. What about the ebbs and flows of child care services?

You'll need a state license & a county business license! You'll also need to pass a state child-abuse check! Then you'll have to be inspected for the safety of your facility -- a home is NOT a good place to run a business of this type (perhaps only if you are only keeping 1 or 2 kids)!!! You will have to have a fire 7 safety inspection.
AND YOU WILL HAVE TO HAVE A HUGE L I A B I L I T Y INS POLICY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You may need a business code varition permit??? If it is out of your home & I assume it is, you will also need waiviers from ALL YOUR NEIGHBORS to run such a business out of your home -- due to the NOISE & SAFTEY FACTORS in most areas !!!!!!!!! If you have more than 1 infant you will probably have to hire help (qualified help!!! and you'll have to screen them & get police reports on them!!! -- as you are handling SOMEONE'S MOST PRECIOUS POSSESSION -- THEIR CHILD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
You will & should do EXTENSIVE RESEARCH on this type of business & also you should have a degree in child psychology & other child related subjects such as TEACHING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
dO YOUR HOMEWORK -- FIRST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yOU will also need "back-up" for times when you are ill or have other important meetings or errands that you must handle !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You might join with another child care agency for back-up help -- swapping your help to them & vice-versa !!! They may be willing to help you too, as there are more than enough kids to go around!!! Most daycare centers have to turn people away when they reach capacity & would love to know of a good safe place to send clients they cant handle !!!!
BEST OF LUCK, but LUCK REQUIRES -- RESEARCH !!!!

It depends on what state you live in. It is usually through the department of human and regulatory services. You can search for them in the phone book or google them for your specific state. It is really easy, you fill out the application, they do a background check to make sure you were not accused of child abuse or neglect in the pass, then they issue your license. Good luck to you.

May I suggest that you start out slow, like maybe part-time. Then if you feel that this is your love, go full-time. Working with children is a very nurturing job. Are you up for the commitment? Is there any doubt?
