Most stories have been done before in one form or another. Consider how many times the theme "boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy wins girl back and they live happily ever after" has been done. It depends on how well it's written.
The basic outline sounds like Romeo and Juliet and slightly like The Iliad. Give it your own special twists and turns and write it well, and you'll have a good story.
For a princess' name, you could go with any name you want. For instance, you could name her Ariadne or Annabella or Abigail or Belinda or Camilla or Drusilla or Ethelinda or Felicia or Griselda or Henrietta or Isabella or Jacinth or Kathleen or Lucinda or Marianne or Narcissa or Olivia or Paulina or Querida or Rosamunde or Rowena or Samantha or Tatiana or Ursula or Verity or Winifred or Xandra or Yolanda or Zippora. Obviously any letter of the alphabet will do!

Like one of the other posts says, you can take any story idea and make it original with the right voice. If you're telling it from Aimery's perspective, maybe he's very sarcastic and likes to point out the cliches of his own story (metafiction). Maybe your story could be a parody of kingdom stories. Maybe the princess turns out to be ugly or mean. Maybe while both kingdoms are caught up in their petty differences, some advanced modern civilization comes by and makes their forest into furniture and turns the place into a suburb.
You have it all planned out, but as you write it, it might turn into a different story, and it might even surprise you.
Still, voice will matter. If you give it the right perspective (experiment with different character viewpoints, try first person, try third person, etc.), it can be original, whatever you decide.
Have fun with it.

Stories are like music in that everyone uses the same basic notes (or ideas in this case), it's just a question of what you actually do with them.
Don't let anyone nay say or second guess you just because you have not come up with an "original" idea, but be as unique as you can using your own voice to tell the story.
And before you ask, unfortunately I have no answers for how to find your own voice. The path and destination is unique for every future author upon that quest.

i actually, somewhat,r e a l l y hate Love in the beginning up sight. and while the nerdy woman (or outcast, or however) gets the main well liked guy. it is only soooo stressful! the element I despise the main is as quickly as I can %. out the whole novel via the tip of the 1st financial disaster. i don't purely like the farm boy one purely while the boy is all excited to be the chosen one and amazingly at as quickly as is familiar with years of educating. i've got continually enjoyed a reluctant hero :) and that i rather plenty hate each and every romance e book. they are each and all of the comparable. i like the falling on your pal one very nicely and the dislike in the beginning up then love one is superb if it is excuted very nicely yet maximum only are sooo cliche and predictable *sigh* the place have each and all of the solid books long gone?

Go ahead and write it! The best thing about writing is to run with an idea and more will come. The more you write the better you will become. 'No idea is too cliche if it is well written and has some unique plot twists.

All plots boil down to one cliche or another. The key is to take that cliche and build upon it in a way that hasn't been done before.

The plot isn't too cliche, it's just a little too neat, if you catch my drift. As in the two kings had two sons. Maybe it's just me. otherwise, it sounds really good; I'd like the read it. As for Princess names, flower names like Rose and Lily always work. There's also Aurora, like from sleeping beauty. It means sunrise (i think.)

I think it's EXTREMELY cliche, but that's not nessacarily a bad thing.
As for the name, something like Rose or Sophia might work.

Sorry, but that's WAY too cliche. People have been writing that stuff for years. Not very original either.
