What a world it would be if the media could only discuss topics that can be proven by the scientific process. For example, the human spirit could not be written about, the self, the Sun of God unless we are all Son's of God and finally the idea that justice is a good and necessary idea among humans. None of those things and stuff can be scientifically proven.
How about the jury trail verdict that finds a defendant guilt or innocent by reason of insanity or doubt? Can these conditions be scientifically proven?
How about intent in legal terms? Can you scientifically prove intent? How about a mother's love for her child, is this an assumption of truth that can be proven scientifically? And honesty, who is to judge George Bush's honesty? Can it be scientifically proven? How about politics in general, is there any scientific proof that politics is really provable or not?
How about a light year? Can someone step a light year off to see it is really their?
How about killing only the bad guys? Can the military really kill only bad guys. Or is killing a relative thing. Maybe it would be proven that the relatives would believe that there sons or daughters, child or wifes or grandmothers are not bad guys and the US Army think that they are bad guys? Is it possible that both are true and how would you proven it if they were?
Could it be possible that each person killed in Irag creats two bad guys? Can it be proven scientifically?

Please read a book by E. F. Schumacher called "A Guide for the Perplexed". His main is about why we should not limit our beliefs to those things that can be proven by the scientific method.
The most powerful thoughts and ideas cannot be proven scientifically. For me, this was a profound insight. Sometimes truth cannot be measured or quantified.
A good example he gives is how the Soviet Union left churches off their maps, even though those were the most obvious landmarks. Schumacher suggests that by limiting our thoughts to those things that can be proven, we are ignoring the most valuable ideas from our intellectual maps.
However, there have been conservative talk show hosts who are known to have deliberately misquoted people, or taken quotes out of context, or fabricated facts, or fabircated stories. I think that even the most popular talk show personalities should be taken off the air if they are found to have abused their public trust repeatedly.

Yes. And, if you think no, then should preachers be allowed to discuss religion and or preach their sermon on National TV and or at all?
