Warm air always tries to invade or displace cooler air.

Heat and cold always work towards equilibrium. If you have the heat on in your house and open the door in the freezing winter then warm air rushes out while it is replaced with colder air from outside. However, since outside is incredibly larger than your house, you'll notice the difference when you're inside, but wouldn't if you were standing outside.

So to answer your question the winner would be whoever has more thermal energy. If you throw some ice cubs into a hot frying pan the ice will melt and eventually evaporate. However, if you put that hot frying pan into a cooler full of ice, eventually the frying pan will turn as cold as the ice.

If you make it cold enough, all the oxygen will freeze out of the air and you won't be able to have a fire. So cold wins against fire.

Of course, if you make it hot enough you also can't have a fire (because the molecules that would participate in the reaction can't hold together), but you probably wouldn't notice the difference at that point. ;-)

In reality, though, the fate of the universe is for all energy to be scattered as heat waste over an ever-increasing volume, so ultimately cold is the big winner over heat.

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what i've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire,
But if I had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

The fire melted the ice then the ice turn in to water, so the water destroy the fire! So the ice win. Actually I am not sure.

everything in the universe is naturally cold, unless there is is an energy source to create heat. Once the energy runs out, the cold wins. cold always wins in the end.
