I'm a little concerned, because I'm only 6wks and I've already got a little "bulge"... wondering if this is just fat or if this is normal signs and symptoms. I'm a very thin woman, 5'4"... about 126lbs

If you are very thin, I'm sure you are beginning to show. It is not abnormal at all. I knew this one lady who was pretty heavy in the midsection, and I could not tell she was pregnant the whole time. It's only natural that if you are bigger in the belly you won't show as well as a thin woman will. However, when my BF was pregnant, nobody knew about it until the baby came, and she is also very skinny. Her belly did not get very big, so she was able to cover it up really well. It really just depends on the woman though. I have also seen bigger women who are pregnant with big bellies. Being bigger doesn't necessarily mean you are big in the stomach, you may have bigger hips, bigger thighs, or a bigger butt, but you may have a smaller waist. Each woman is different. Congratulations by the way!

Depends on the woman, but it follows that if you're already thin, any additional belly bulge will be more noticeable than it would on a heavier/thicker woman.

For instance, when a college friend's mother -- who happened to be a bit heavyset -- was expecting a surprise addition, they didn't even bother to tell anyone until she was seven or eight months. You really couldn't tell at all! It was like, "Oh, yeah, my mom's having a baby." And a few weeks later ... heeeeere's baby. LOL

So yes, it's perfectly normal to have a little baby bump already, especially if you were small to begin with. Enjoy it ... it's very cool, and not an experience you'll ever forget! ;)

If you are really thin you can start 'showing' earlier than larger women. Really its only your insides moving upwards and out to accomodate the enlarging uterus not actually the baby that is making you 'bulge'. Bloating in pregnancy happens too so some days you will look bigger than others. You will probably have a noticeable bump by 12-14 weeks if you are really thin as opposed to other larger women.

For now, you're probable merely bloated, in case you have an prolonged torso, it many times hides the newborn nicely.

I am 5'6" and weighed 120. I didn't gain any weight until I was 21 weeks and didn't start to show until after that. I don't think it has anything to do with what size you were.
