Good question. I read the Bible from cover to cover when I was 11, and I was absolutely HORRIFIED by the way women were treated. That was when I decided that I wanted nothing to do with the Christian religion. I figured that if their god was real, he wasn't someone I'd want to associate with, anyway.

women at the instant are not badly regarded upon there are a number of nicely comprehend women interior the Bible a pair even have their own books Ruth, Esther. Mary is extremely regarded upon, there is likewise Mary Magdalene. women carry all forms of positions interior the Church some even are Pastor now, oh my, there are a number of female who're Evangelist, Joyce Myers is an exceedingly customary female Evangelist. I never get this ingredient that asserts women are badly regarded upon interior the Christian faith. specific there are the stupid adult males that say they rule and the girls could desire to serve. actually nonetheless a real Christian guy loves his spouse and treats her with admire and honors her. He could have the call of non secular Head of the abode carry yet that doesn't propose that he's to be a dictator. i admire the asserting that God took a bone from Adams rib because of the fact it grew to become into at his section. a female isn't decrease or under a guy she is his important different status beside him not under him or in the back of him.

No no that's a total misunderstanding. Any misogyny that takes place is from ignorance. Women can teach. Women have just as many rights as men! If you go to a church were women are inferrior, well, that's a really bad church. I consider myself a "feminist" and a Christian. Jesus broke serious cultural normes concerning women when He hit the scene. The Jews of the time didn't allow women to get an religious education, or really anything else. They were considered properity. It was sick. Jesus was the first to have women disciples. He appeared first to the women when He was resurrected and He rebuked Martha for asking Mary to stop listening to His teaching and help her with the chores. So the verses that seem "misoginistic" are simply misinterrpreted. If you read only one verse and none surronding than you aren't getting a fair picture.

At times there comes a time where things are misconstrued; for instance the Islamic relegion is known about the beating wife thing, as well as the CDD. Here's the rub: there are SOME women who literally believe that if they get beaten they have to accept it and they must never say anything back because he's their husband. When people think like that that is where the problem starts. The truth is what they need to know is that they can stand up for themselves and that they must stand up for themselves, cause if they don't no one else will.

That is exactly why I DO NOT attend christian or catholic church. I don't believe in organized religion but I do believe in spirituality and treating people with respect and dignity. Everyone pretty much has a general idea of how you are supposed to treat your fellow man. I don't need a guy in a robe to tell me that and add at the end that I am the downfall of man because "Eve at the apple and gave it to Adam". I am over that garbage. Christianity (Catholicism specifically) has been the biggest oppressor of women since it's roots. These ideas are misconstrued by ego-maniacal zealots who twist and bend what the bible says in order to justify their own hatred for women. Jesus was cool to the ladies...even told the town folk to "throw the first stone" and all that jazz. At the end of the day, I think Jesus is an awesome fella and I appreciate him being so nice to women. It is all over the bible how kind he was to women, elderly, children, people who are suffering, etc. It is the people who use the bible as a weapon that are the problem.

The Bible describes men & women in a marriage as "one flesh." The husband does have more accountability to God for the status of his household, therefore, he is considered the head of the household. However, that does not place women in a "subservient" role.
The Bible is replete with several examples (both Old & New Testament) of women in places of authority, both religiously & governmentally.

Only a few Christian women take those passages literally. There are misogynistic passages in every religious text you can think of, but the most fundamental tenets of Christianity are still believed.

the churches ive went to before were very good and treated women just as good as the guys. but we can not take out the fact that it does say that the man is ahead of his house but it does not mean he has the right to mentally and physically abuse the woman and i also beleave that the man should be in the will of god if he wants to be the head

I grew up with a fundy minister, and didn't see the appeal of christian churches one bit. I figured after a while that generations of families are taught this stuff, and based on my parents, they really believe you're going to the fiery pit forever if you don't think like they do. So men and women are willing to put up with this sexist racist homophobic crud because they're afraid.
Fear keeps them in their place. It's an awful way to live. What's weird is, my parents, especially my father, fears death so much. I don't believe in anything and I'm ready to go right now, no regrets.

Human Beings in general all looked down in Bible and Christianity. Why do people accept they are all "sinners" by default and go to a church that says stuff like this?
It is also said that all die because we are born sinners. So what sin did a still-born child do in its mother's womb?
As a Hindu, I can’t comprehend stuff like this. May be Christians in general are more evolved and can understand complex and deep such stuff, unlike a plain and meek guy like me. That is why they go to Church. I got to Church occasionally to listen to the music and do some sit-down stand-up exercise.
