Ever since I was 12, I've had them very heavy and last for almost a week. The first two days are like hell. My cramps are so painful I can't function whatsover. I feel weak and my stomach is usually out of whack. Either I throw up or can't eat at all. Tylenol doesn't help. Midol helps only a little. The only thing I can do is curl up in my bed and cry. I want to know what I can do to help these symptoms. I'm tired of going through this every month.

poor you I have the same and it is horrible to think of someone so young having this get to see a dr please don,t suffer there are loads of treatments, you may have endometriosis which can cause these symptoms, there is a drug called mefanamic acid specially developed for this that eases the pains and also tranamnamic acic to reduce bleeding or hormone treatments I have spent time in hospital and even neede blood transfusions and have tried everything I even had injections of zoladex to give me 6 months break. my daugter has just started her periods and was ill aswell the things that help are a constant hot water bottle and warm baths, people say exercise helps but if you are like me you can't move.My heart goes out to you please see a sympathetic dr I have friends who have a period and it doesn't have any effects, hope you get sorted.

If you don't want to do something hormonal (mostly birth control options) you can use prescription strength NSAIDS like Motrin, timed 1-2 days before the usual onset of symptoms, continue exercising during this time, and supplement with high dose calcium.

If you havea heavy interval that may oftentimes be extra painful than whether it is lighter. Period pains is the womb contracting to push out the liner of the womb. Plus its stated to be a well sighn that you're an overly fertil younger girl. So it has its well aspect. I have had the identical pains and needed to simply sleep by way of it as taking painkillers used to make me vomit. I needed to have the window extensive open at one factor simply due to the fact warmness made me believe worse.

I am so sorry for you. My daughter goes thru the same thing every month....it's painful for me to watch her suffer so much.
I convinced her to have an ultrasound a few yrs ago, and she has a cyst on her ovary.....and when her period starts, the fluid in the cyst expands and causes the pain. She was put on a low dose birth control pill and it helps just a little.
Please check with your doctor.

I've heard dietary changes, exercise and herbals can help. See this link for a good place to start:

EDIT: Everyone's body is different. The reason I said "I've heard" is because I actually don't get menstrual cramps at all, and neither does one of my sisters. Lucky!

To help my cramps, i drink a lot of water and do crunches during my period. It helps a lot.You can also try putting a hot water bottle where you get cramps.Anything you can do to contract your uterus and all the muscles down there will help with the cramps.

For your cramping i'd take advil.....me and my sisters get really really bad cramps and advil is the only thing that relieves it...it really works though, also you could use a hot water bottle...but the advil works the best
