"Through every Abu Ghraib and Haditha, through every rape and murder, the American public has indulged those in uniform... this NBC report is just an ugly reminder of the price we pay for a mercenary - oops, sorry, volunteer- force that thinks it is foing the dirty work."

Is this not 1000 times worse than the spin Reid but on Rush’s comment about a very real phony solider? Democrats, this is your chance to step away from the hypocrites of the far-left. Will you do the right thing?

That is the most disgusting, loathsome "article" I've ever read in my life. I did a blog about it right after it first happened. He also went on to bleat that the troops get "obscene amenities". Make up your mind, Dems - are they under supplied, or do they have "obscene amenities"? Remember, this is the same party who thinks it's "cruel" to put prisoners in tents in the desert; in other words, conditions good enough for our troops aren't sufficient for felons.

To steal a quote from a friend, "If you don't stand behind the troops, feel free to stand in front of them."

Arkin is not worthy of the freedoms he enjoys. What a moron and a hypocrite, to insult the very men and women that protect his right to be a dumb ***.

Maybe because democrats or at least the majority of them believe in the first amendment and do understand that officially condemning statements isn't the job of the congress.

Edit: I was answering the question. I assumed you were referencing the Moveon.org ad. Personally I find it idiotic and a true waste of time for the congress to constantly filter through the opinions and condemn the ones that they disagree with. I don't care which side it is, because this type of thing strictly speaking is not a job for a democratic societies governing body. Most democrats believe in freedom of the press or at least most that I've come across. Maybe you'd rather we start censoring anything offensive to the opposing side and end up with some propaganda spouting government regulated news source only, but I as a self respecting liberal would not agree to something like that. I might have been mistaken on the vote count on the McCain-Kyl amendment or whatever it was called, but I thought most of the dems didn't vote for it. If I was mistaken fine, but to be honest nobody who respects the constitution from either party should have voted for it.

Considering how the Republicans smeared John Kerry and Max Cleland, I'm suprised you have the cojones to ask such a stupid question. Here's one for you genius: If the Democrats and Republicans are going to have to denounce everything offensive that their allies spout, then the Republicans would do nothing but constantly denounce Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, The Swiftboat Veterans for Truth, Tony Horowitz, Sean Hannity, The New York Post, and I could go on all night.

Liberals like Harry Reid have a double standard. They only attack conservatives when they "attack" our troops (which Rush clearly did not). Arkin is a liberal, so he gets away with actually attacking our troops.

They are afraid of George Soros and his moveon.org. they are afraid of media matters, which hillary proudly says she helped found. They know that if they cross any of these two or any other left wing loon group, then they will come after them.
Oh yea, they need their money.

Probably because there are more "mercenaries," or private contractors, in Iraq (180,000) than there are actual U.S. troops.

That is the worst kind of "broad brush" slander that I have seen time and time again from the liberal (so-called) "Americans".
