The amount of negativity is due to the anonymous nature of the web. People are free to be as nasty as they want to be, as there is no fear of retaliation. Sorry to say, there is no way to stop it friend. Just try to ignore it.

Unfortunately negativity is newsworthy. Ever hear a news broadcast talk about what a nice day it is, and how there is little traffic on the roads and accident free? Nope. Positive news is boring. People get something out of hearing about bad things that are going on around the world. Don't get me wrong, we hear about people winning the lottery etc. but that took all of 2 minutes and then back to bad bad bad.
Secondly you cant avoid negative people all together. Its not like they are wearing signs that say I'm going to riddle you with negative thoughts in about 2 seconds. So you take it and do your best to let it filter through you. Some negative is good though. Keeps the checks and balances in order and lets us not forget whats out there.

Because the internet is anonymous as anonymous can be. People talk about their sex lives and their issues like it's a casual conversation because they're sure that it'll never be traced back to them, or because they've convinced themselves that the "people" they meet on the internet are just a crowd of listeners, and nothing more.
Similarly, people who seek attention or have a lot of pent up anger try to solve these issues by asking trolling, hating, etc.
It's kind of sad, when you think about it...the internet has the capability of being an amazing tool, but it's simultaneously a punching bag for millions of people.

Welcome to Q&A -----It's an eye opener to say the least to
see the reality of the stress and anger that often transfers
on these boards, it was a great surprise to find it when I first
started, especially on R&S which was not my expectation.
But just keep a postitive attitude and don't take it personal.
you can't stop it, when I tire of it, I just go to another site, or retreat for a while, as a total it is informitive, and interesting
to view human nature at it's core. Blessings

well there is a lot of negativity, i agree with you. because ppl take out their everyday anger online because they cant do that in real life,. online there are no consequences if you say nasty stuff to a stranger ya know?
usually we attract ppl because they are there to show us something about ourselves. sort of like mirroring. Our energy sends out signals that say for example ''i am angry deep down inside and i hate the world but i dont realize it'' --- bam!!! you meet an angry person who hates you and the world...to show you this is how you may be.
that was just an example. i didnt mean you. so the only way to change that is to realize there's a lesson to be learned, really.

Have you ever stoped for a moment and checked what thoughts you are thinking about. It's really all about your thinking. We are all attracting the kinds of people we have in our lives by just are own way of thinking. If your not happy with the quality of people you have right now, check how your thinking. If your thoughts aren't all that great, then find a way to change your thoughts. Great question by the way.

People online can and will say whatever they feel, due to the fact that no one can sit there and tell them to not say negative things...even people who are not mean-spirited in nature in real life can be jerks online without fear. It's a great place for the unsocial and those who do not speak their minds openly in reality to be heard..good or bad

Perhaps the negativity is in you. Perceiving too many 'negatives' is a serious problem in itself, and may require medication.

People just like to vent their feelings. And when you don't have to ever see the person you are talking to it is so much easier. Be more positive yourself.
