Does anyone like the name Solomon, except me. I love unique Bible names that sound very Strong, but my husband does not like this name at all. What do you think?

Solomon is one of the strongest names I can imagine.
He was a great monarch, the wisest ruler who ever lived, and had a special relationship with God. What a terrific namesake!!!!!
I also love this name.

If your hubby thinks it's too "heavy" for a little kid, tell him about the nickname Sol.

I think giving your son the name Solomon is better than Jaden or Brayden or Dylan or Ethan even. It is strong, powerful, beautiful, and projects a strong sense of faith in God. Solomon is a name that says:
I am a force to be reconned with. I am strong, I am wise. I am humble. I but God and ideas first.

If these meanings are important to you, there is no better name for your son that Solomon!

ps
if your hubby still objects, try one of these nicknames or variations:
Salamen
Salamon
Salaun
Salman
Salomo
Selim
Shelomah
Shlomo
Sol
Solly
Solmon
Soloman

pps
if he still hates it, try it as a middle name... Isaac Solomon or Daniel Solomon or another Bibical name like Abel Solomon would be great!

Naming your baby is one of the hardest decisions we have to make as parents. Your child's name represents so much and the best way to accomplish your goal is to make a list of your favorites and your least favorites along with each names meaning. Meaning is a very important factor to consider as well. To answer your initial question, Solomon is a wonderful name! Explain to your husband the meaning of Solomon, it may just change his mind! Good Luck & God Bless!

I absolutely love the name Solomon! So many things come to mind when I hear it, strength being one of them. Maybe your husband will come around, it really is a GOOD choice. Best Wishes!

Marriage is full of compromises and this might be one of those times you will both need to do just that.
If your husband is adament about not naming your child Solomon ( whether a first or second name) then I would suggest you both find another name you can agree upon.
Otherwise I suggest you use Solomon as a middle name

Example :

Aiden Solomon
Edward Solomon
Mathew Solomon

I'm not too fond of Solomon although I do like Bible names too. My children are Eliza and Isaac Matthew so you can't get a lot more biblical than that!

Other biblical names I like for boys are...
Joshua
Ethan
Jacob
Asher
Adam
Adrias
Alexander
Andrew

Love it. Nicknames Sol/Saul or Sully are nice options, too. ;)

Of course, if your husband doesn't care for there's little we can do to show him the light, eh? LOL Try some "stronger" sounding Biblical options (I mean the actual sounds ... not implying Solomon isn't a strong name LOL). Men seem to go for those more easily. In other words, along the lines of ...

Ezra
Malachi
Enoch
Levi
Boaz
Felix
Jude
Mordecai
Titus
Zebadiah
Zedekiah

Like it alot. I actually was going to name my son just born that name. Then I liked the name Gideon, and then I ended up naming him Creed which means I believe. I think its a really cool name and I vote for Solomon.

I like this name, but that shouldn't be something to use against your husband. Essentially the baby's name should be something you both agree on. Perhaps find a name you both like, and use Solomon as a middle name.

I loved the name Seth for a boy and my husband hated it. Luckily we found out were having a girl so no need for argument. Good luck, boys names are hard to agree on!
