Abolish all guns, while making sure the criminals do not have them will reduce crime.

HOWEVER, that is not realistic.

Therefore, since America is covered in guns, I support the right for every law abiding citizen to be packing. And support that the current laws are enough in regards to using a gun in the commission of a crime and background checks is enough.

I am a liberal.

I also live in a country where gun ownership is illegal, but unlike the states, it has been illegal for a long long time. Crime is very low here. Won't work in America

I've read more books and stories about when people get out of jail, that within the first day they already found a way to get a gun.

The guns they get are not regulated. Nor are the means in which they get them.

Get out of jail and immediately find drugs, a gun, then a hooker - in that order.

Not everyone, but anyone serious about harming or hurting someone (with a gun) for a living.

If you take guns out of the hands of upstanding citizens, then that opens up an entire new world for criminals to have their way with anyone.

If you were a criminal and walked by a home where a vehicle had a bumper sticker saying anything to do with supporting the NRA, a hunter, or for guns... Or you walk by a home where there's a vehicle with a bumper sticker saying anything to do with banning guns... Which house are YOU going to rob?

A criminal seeing a home with no bumper stickers (and such) not claiming anything at all, a criminal has a 50/50 chance you ARE packing heat.

Take guns away and it's an automatic 100% chance a criminal won't think twice about robbing you... Raping you, etc. He will.

I also believe fewer guns will cause more crimes, another stat that will go up is victims, after all, criminals prefer a weak, unarmed victim, quite a few crooks have gotten a deadly surprise from a WW2 Vet,or an old farm widow, believe me when I say alot of elderly women are proficient with firearms,I also don't think us legal gun owners should be penalized because of the bad apples of society,

I absolutly think fewer guns will cause more crimes. The only people who will have guns are the people that shouldn't have them.

A quote: “This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future.” — Adolf Hitler, democratically elected dictator, 1933

The saying is that if you take away guns from the good guys, then only the badguys have them.
A few years ago in Massachusetts, the state admitted gun control didnt work after the murder rate went through the roof after strict gun control laws were enacted.
It turned out that nearly all of the murders were with illegal weapons, and that they were carried out in the new gun free areas, such as Springfield, which had 3 clerks and 2 police officers gunned down in one night, and at least 3 murders a night for the two weeks after that.
as of now, It is the only state ever to admit gun control does not work, and is the only state to have ever tried this experiment.
Another good point is that all mass shootings in the US have happened in gun free zones. Who knows if they would have been as bad if there had been guns allowed, but certain examples show that guns in schools and government offices can save lives. There have been several times Israeli citizens have stopped suicide bombers inside schools, in one case it was a pregnant mother who shot a suicide bomber dead.
We dont have suicide bombers, but I doubt kids would shoot up schools if they knew there would be people shooting back.

No. Idiots will still do the crime and do the time. There would be less deaths from crime with no guns. But I want my guns. I enjoy shooting with my friends out at the lake on weekends. It's not getting rid of guns. It's getting the guns out of the hands of criminals and letting people who can use them responsably have the right to own a gun.

Every neighborhood, city, county, state in U.S.A has a different crime rate.

Banning weapons and selling weapons like candies are both extremes and extremes are bad.

I think that criminals do not obey gun laws. Don't believe me? Check out the Federal CJ system.

I DO. Less guns...less of a risk that a dangerous criminal or mentally unstable person will gt their filthy hands on it. Less chance of someone being shot and or killed.
