the common cause of heartburn is hyperacidity

You have acid in your stomach, right? Roiling around. Next, mix it with carbonation (sugar turns to acid quickly, too), and suddenly your roiling stomach begins to overflow the doors at the bottom of your esophagus with roiling, carbonated stomach acid. This is otherwise known as heartburn.

If this happens every day, you need to be on medication, because even if you don't feel it, some of that acid may be backing up into your esophagus and doing damage at other times, too.

Some of the over-the-counter acid reducers might do the trick, but as an everyday, every evening sufferer of nasty heartburn, I would advise you to see your dr. because they have better rx drugs now that turn off the acid factory rather than just absorbing the acid. And they work really well. I almost never have indigestion or heartburn, nada. One pill a day.

The common cause for heartburn is that the little doors at the bottom of the esophagus don't or can't keep all the food/acid down in the stomach and it gets backed up into the esophagus.

Heart burn is caused by acidy foods. A way to stop heart burn is to stop eating and drinking the foods that you notice cause it. If you do get it often and its really painful it could be acid reflux then you would need to talk to a doctor.

Hyperacidity. Soda (or softdrinks) has high acid content. You can even use them as toilet bowl cleaner (have tried it, and i highly recommend it!).
