So I use 1 wipe for a wet diaper, and 2-4 maybe even 5 if it's a bad poopy diaper.

My husband uses at least 2 for a wet diaper, and 5, maybe 6 for a poopy diaper.

Since we now have two kids in diapers, it seems we are going through a ton of wipes and diapers.

If you had my husband, would you:

A) Get after him & try to get him to use less wipes (this stuff is not cheap!),

or

B) Forget about it and be happy that he actually changes diapers?

Thanks~

Tough call. I'd be happy that he's changing diapers, and that he is ensuring the child is good and clean before putting on a dry diaper. Try talking to him, there is absolutely no need to use 2 for a wet diaper! If he bucks, show him how many you use when you change your next diaper. He just might be afraid that he's not getting the kid clean enough, and overcompensating to make sure he did a good job.

Well, B is a pretty good answer. If you want to save some money, use a baby washcloth for wet diapers (its a little harder with poopy diapers but doable). Just wet the cloth, wipe, and then wash it out. Money saved.

If he's totally non receptive to using less then let it go! Be glad he isn't being sneaky of placing the baby down when he sees you enter the room so you change the stinky! LOL
Another option is to watch as he's changing diapers. If you notice that he isn't folding the wipe over to do more cleaning then just mention that they'll last longer if he folds them over and uses both sides that way. Also make sure he isn't using the wipes as a way of cleaning other things....His hands and sticky baby faces are two of the things I'm thinking of...Also one my husband is guilty of is using the baby wipes to clean down the highchair tray instead of taking it to the sink and washing it off the normal way.

I would buy a few good packages of baby cloths just for diapers - - and use them! One investment - maybe the cost of one or two packages - and it lasts until your kids are out of diapers.

And if it came down to him not changing diapers, or using more wipes - I'd settle with the more wipes. But I give my hubby trouble for using too many too. If he'll take it - try. But try using cloths - its so much cheaper and better for the environment.

I would say B. Be very happy he is changing diapers. Wipes are not THAT much money. You can always go get cheaper wipes, like the ones at Costco.

I wish my husband would change diapers.

Go to Walmart and buy the pack of wipes that cost .90 for 80 wipes. These are not such bad wipes. You could also make your own wipes. I have read that you can cut a roll of paper towels in half and then put them in a regular wipe container. Then wet the wipes down with water.

I think be happy that he's changing a diaper. My husband refuses to change a diaper or heat a bottle if I am in the same room.

I would be happy for getting help

You forgot C) Change all the diapers yourself!!

I would just be glad that he does change diapers. My ex would go nowhere near a diaper. My husband now changes my newborn's with out even thinking twice. I am thrilled that he does it and I don't even bother with how many wipes he uses.

B

Be happy he is changing them. Mine does change them too. We have different methods of doing things as well. It's not worth arguing about his way or my way, so I let it go. I'm just happy that he helps out. When it comes down to it, our son doesn't care which way it's done, and the price savings probably wouldn't be that much.

(Now if I could only get mine to close the wipes tub :) LOL )

B! My Boyfriend changes diapers but I have to beg him as it is. Would much rather he just did it because he loved me and baby. Especially since I have this nausea thing with pregnancy #3.
