Yes they tried to destroy him. After they stopped Robert Bork, he was next. Why? He was a black man who went off the reservation. He didn't worship at the altar of Jesse Jackso and Al Sharpton.

Do I believe Anita Hill? No. Why? I remember the ridiculous testimony against Thomas. For instance, an Anita Hill friend testified that Ms. Hill complained about being harrassed at work. She put the timeline during her testimony as a time BEFORE Hill had even met Thomas. Whoops! Of course, the testimony was changed the next day after the contradiction was pointed out by the Republicans. How convenient.

Instance 2. Thomas moved to a new job. In the old job, Hill said he harrassed her. When he got the new job, she voluntarily left her old job and followed HIM? Huh? If you are disgusted by your supervisor's advances and he leaves, wouldn't you celebrate? Apparently not Anita Hill. No, she followed him to his new job. What is wrong with this picture?

So what really happened? The Dems got to her. This nomination process was almost derailed at the 11th hour by a person and her friend who did not have their "facts" straight. They had absolutely no proof and had contradicting testimony.

So far, nobody has been able to show contradictions in the Judge's statements. Hill's are not consistent. Do I think the Dems tried to railroad Judge Thomas? Absolutely.

I have not had a chance to buy his book yet, but I will.
This man should be looked at as true inspiration for all young people to look up to, not just colored people.
His values are the best of anyone in the supreme court, and he judges buy the constitution, not politics.
He is a man that I have admired for years.

But I am just a white guy, 54 years old, so what do I know?

Libs see it this way:

Anita Hill told the truth.

Paula Jones and Juanita Broaddrick lied about Clinton trying to rape them.

Kathleen Wiley lied about Clinton groping her.

1. I believed Anita Hill then, and I believe her now.

2. I think she was used to help try to derail his nomination.

3. Justice Thomas was probably right that one of the issues was abortion.

4. Thomas was appointed to the court by Bush Sr. because he was black (to replace Thurgood Marshall--which is laughable because Marshall was a great legal mind and an icon of American history, Thomas absolutely does not compare). Bush Sr appointed him because he was a black CONSERVATIVE.

5. Bush Sr. should be ashamed of himself for suggesting at the time that Thomas was the most qualified person to serve regardless of race. Absolutely nobody believed him. (I think Barbara had to stifle a laugh at the press conference announcing his nomination at that line.)

He is a great person. It is sick that his race was the primary reason many wanted to destroy him. Those that tried to destroy him claim to be the ones that care about race. They are the ones that see race first. I will give them that.

Who is "they?" I believe Anita Hill thought she was harrassed. Whether she truly was....I'm not sure. But any time someone says they were sexually harrassed by a supreme court nominee - people will ask questions. And the media loved it because everyone was interested. Now the question I still have is this: I heard him on talk radio two days ago and his explanation of how he got into Harvard or Yale sounded like he got in through affirmative action. But then he says that he did not get in through affirmative action. I think he is a bit mixed up.

I still believe Anita Hill. If the democrats had wanted to destroy Thomas, they would have used a white woman to do the accusing.
