Life does have meaning. If there where no meaning, there would be no life. Whether it is as small as smiling at somebody at a grocery store, or as big as buddha or jesus, whatever there is, there is meaning. I try and look at every day as a possibility for self growth, for a chance to help anyone and everyone I come into contact with, and a chance to love every second of being. I feel that everybody is on a path, and if you are reading this, somehow our paths crossed, we have energetically reached eachother, though we may never again, we did now. For what purpose? It is hard to say right now, but the fact that I am asking what purpose shows me there is a purpose. The meaning of life, of any life, is anybodys interpretation. Anybody can create anything they want/need/enjoy, they just must do it, and not fear it, feel that they deserve it, and love it. So to answer this question, yes there is meaning, that meaning, is the question you must ask yourself.

Life can only have meaning if there is a God who created us for a purpose. By itself, no natural process such as evolution can give meaning.

If we reject God, then we must invent activities that inflate our self worth and deceive ourselves into thinking that those activities are the purpose for our existence.

"try to be the best person that we can be" (answer just above me) is an example of such an invented purpose. It sounds praiseworthy so we earn real and imagined praise and that feels good. But when we see that the true goal is self praise and feel-goodism, then it loses it's praise-worthiness. Hence the need for self deception.

i think it's up to each individual to *make* life have meaning. it's not something that's automatic.
