Its called a salary/paycheck. The office of the President of the United States is a paid position. If I'm not mistaken it somewhere in the $120,000-$180,000 per annum range. The President is paid for his services in the same way any other type of government official or private administrator is paid. Other than that the President does not receive and other official payment for his/her office.

No ... Presidents do not, nor have they ever received, a retirement package in a monetary form for serving as President of the United States. The only type of 'benefit' they are entitled to after they are no longer in office is indefinite protection by the Secret Service, but that is not something you can put in a bank, or use to buy food. It is merely a courtesy the government extends to former commander-in-chiefs ... nothing more.

he gets a retirement package equal to his salary i believe
