Yes. This was a great hit for not only the Carpenters, but many other singers. Most notable was the cover by Neil Diamond. It requires a great voice to do it justice, however;; there are note progressions and chord changes in it that need a real pro. The high notes are a killer for a male singer, to hit without straining. Here are a few others, mentioned in Wikipedia: "Solitaire" is a popular song written by Neil Sedaka. It tells of a man losing touch with, and thus losing, his sweetheart. Alone, he's "playing solitaire". Solitaire has been recorded by Sedaka, the Carpenters (a #17 hit in 1975), Andy Williams (a #4 hit in the United Kingdom in 1973), Clay Aiken, and Sissel, among others.
