well, lets see. no one really cares about steroid abusers breaking records. so that leaves out option A. the mlb playoffs, yeah, kinda interesting. something that happens in the mlb once every 50 years cause that league is too predictable. still though, its the mlb, boring as heck, still fairly predictable, so that leaves option D out. the scandles definately opened up discussion, but they are usually short lived. once vick is finally sentenced in december, he will be forgotten, so that leaves option C out. i'll have to go with option B. Brett Favre is a role model, competitor, team player, and a winner. after all the criticism he was blamed for after his receivers mistakes the past few seasons, he continued to play and prove everyone wrong.

Unfortunately it's the first thing that came to your mind. Yes, it's A, it's Bonds. Are you going to remember 07 for Favre the guy who's record got broken by that Peyton Manning guy a couple of years later? Are you going to remember the nba's scandal about Tim Don-something, see I already can't remember. WE is fake so beniot story doesn't get enough attention and the mlb playoffs happen like this every year. The HR record is one of sports greatest achievments, I'll remember 07 for Bonds breaking the record, not Favre's going to be broken record or the scandles that are almost gone already or the mlb playoffs which each year something crazy happens by 1 game at the end. Bonds broke a milestone record, it has to be the story of the year even if he is on roids.

The Mets collapse just took the lead coming down the home stretch. With the baseball playoffs yet to unfold and the bulk of the NFL season left there could be another story arise.

Bonds will always be talked about as a huge scandal so that was big
Farve wasn't as big a record as the HR king thing.
Vick- I'm tired of it
MLB it's crazy this year and love to watch but this happens once every 2 or 3 years.
So i got to go with the Bonds Hr scandal it was a big deal and will be for years to come as the rockies are a past memory

I think the Vick story probably is the biggest (I won't use the word best here), as it took one of the biggest names in football out of circulation for at least a few years in a shocking way. Bonds was going to set the record eventually, football records don't matter as much, and the baseball regular season provided some thrills but is far from over.
My vote for best sports story would be on the day that Kevin Everett walks out of a hospital, if it happens.

Kimberly Bell (Bond's ex mistress) ratting on him using Roids because he was jealous of the attention that McGuire got for the home run record.
She detailed everything from the zits on his back, his roid rage, and his shrinking testicles.. Priceless....

D
C
A
B
A and B only happened this year by chance - they were destined to happen and it was this year that they finally got enough games/at bats to accomplish the great feats. Those are amazing, without a doubt, but they are about longevity and ongoing success - they are about the past years as much as they are about the current.
D and C are this year stories. The amazing story goes first (Mets, Phils, Rox, Pads) with the scandal second.
