I believe that an attack and attempt to occupy Iran will result in even greater resistance from a coalition of Muslims in the Middle East.
The United States cannot expect high-tech gadgetry to overcome numbers on the ground. Have you ever heard of Viet Nam? It will not be a conventional war.

Relax- there will be no invasion of Iran. Any action taken would be limited to diminish their ability to produce nuclear weapons. This would be done with air strikes and cruise missiles. WWIII could well come if Iran does get nuclear weapons. Imagine two or three nukes being sent into Israel. Or a suitcase nuke being smuggled into the US through a sea port or through the Mexican border and being set off in a major city. That may have the potential to start WWIII- not an invasion of Iran.

There is little to be concerned about. WW3 would be a complete breakdown of international reason and sanity. The invasion of any one country by another is not likely to instigate such a scenario. An unprovoked nuclear attack by any country against any other country would surely cause a massive retaliation, but it's still not going to convince the majority of nations to go to war. Why would anyone invade Iran? Don't say "OIL".

During Desert Storm, Iraq's fighters and other valuable
hard ware, were hidden from sight in some harden bunker as they called it. Advanced equipment aboard our fighters could easily locate them, then F 117 strikers would drop a bomb famous as Bunker Busters, laser guided it reached the target but it didn't explode yet, the tip was a drill type device that would penetrate in to the concrete about 5 or 6 feet , then exploded and destroyed the entire bunker and it's content.
Now Iran has learned their lesson, any type of bunker or Their nuclear research facilities are built well and deep , and very very well protected, Air strike with conventional weapons, likely results failure. which leaves two other options, that are attack by ground forces, fighting their way inside Iran's soil and moving north from Persian gulf, west if from Afghanistan, and east bond from Iraq, which high number of casualties should be expected. Final option is going nuclear, and perhaps drop 2 thermonuclear devices, with casualties will be in millions and the horror beyond imagine. The ratio of gain to casualties is so small that can be neglected, that bring the other horrible fact which is reduction of people, a Holocaust well beyond WW II
and now the possibility of AIDS being a man made vireos for reduction of human in Africa. is our gov. playing God.?
It's a tragedy? it's Horror, horror........horror?
Best Regards.

A world war won't happen because Iran doesn't have enough powerful allies, and the U.S. already has a presence in the Middle-East which throws a wet blanket over others thinking about siding with Iran in a war.
