Do you think things are better now or when your grandparents grew up? Has technology...ie. the computer made things better or worse?

During the next hundred years we will choose our destiny and it will happen. I/we may sometimes loose gratitude because we are spoiled, but person from 100 years ago would think that our lives are spectacular beyond description. That's what I think the future holds- life that we would consider spectacular beyond description. I could be wrong, but a guess based on no information shows what you hope for, and that's my guess.

Yes, things are much better for us than they were for our ancestors. Computers and technology have provided enormous opportunity that continue to provide information for the development of processes that will benefit the earth. I grew up in an extended family, and experienced the discovery of two great grandparents who had died in their sleep, by members of my family. I grew up on a large farm, and do know what hard work is. I am truly enjoying the progress that is now making my life easier.

Thats a two sided argument. Technolohas its ups and down. We have technology because of knowledge and knowledge is dangerous.
For eg The more cures we come up with for diseases the more disease come up after that.

Things were better in the age where humans lived in clans etc- stone age maybe.

Or in the Hippies era where peace was promoted, and honour existed.

look what happened to the world when war ships were discovered- extreme colonization began...
third world countries used to better before they were colonized. in fact the third world woudn't exist if the britishers had kept to themselves..

And Warfare- the greatest progress we've ade- nuclear, biological and chemical. Guns, bombs etc

i think there are more downs than ups and if this is toay, i don't want to live in the next century.

I think the human race
is going to eat everything in site.
Just look at the statistics on obesity.
In 100 years,
the normal age expectancy will be 25
& the average weight will be 305.
Heart disease & diabetes
will be our major problems,
that and the food shortages.
Fat will be the Norm
& thin will be a minority.
And in some places in the world,
it will be against the law to weigh
less than 256 pounds or 19 stones.

It is all the same one way or another ! If we have computers now, they had better dreams while peacefully sleeping which we are not able to get nowadays.
