I mean the human body itself is a work of art - unless Leonardo Da Vinci is doing the tattooing, it can only deface what is already beautiful.

the only difference between tattooed people and non tattoed people is that tattooes people dont care if you have tattoos.

If you dont like them, dont get one.. but dont judge other people for the choices they make.

I don't have any piercings, but have a lot of ink. About sixty hours worth. I'm following a mainly mythological theme. What started out as a fastination, and an interesting thing to do, became a preoccupation and I became obsessed with getting the finest skin art money could buy. Having been an artist myself, all my life, and after a little while spent in the company of tattoo artists, and heavily inked people, I gradually leaned toward learning the art, and bought a junk tattoo machine for $100. A few years later, I stumbled onto some real proffesional equipment, when an artist decided to do something else. I asked a friend to apprentice me properly, and nowdays things are good. And my body is a living canvas. Some stare, but I'm used to it. A lot of people come up to ask me about 'em. I don't mind. They are usually friendly and intellegent people. Works for me! Take care.

Because it shows people what you believe in, and what you stand for, so there is no question. It's like making a statement without actually saying anything.

I think tattoos enhance the body's form when they're strategically placed.

In some cultures, a tattoo is a step in spirituality.

Tattoos are a way for a person to put a symbol of somethinng. Of someone they care about, something they were a part of, anything that is special to them. I am not a huge fan of people who just cover their entire bodies with tattoos because they think it looks cool, but I myself have a few tattoos that have extreme sentimental meaning to me.

hi Jack, i have two tattoos....and i think, a real good tattoo is
really an art for itself. When the motives are good and the job is very well done, and the "right" parts..then it IS an art. Speaking for myself..

I like my tats- doesn't mean I'm trying to make my world revolve around them. Why are you so quick to place judgment on other people's thoughts and feelings? You are allowed to believe that what you think is beautiful is beautiful- so leave those people alone that think tats are beautiful.

This is a question that revolves around each person's OPINION- so how do you justify making a "judgment call" on the opinion of others?

Probely cuz they payed sooo much money and they really hate it but they can't say they hate because then people would say there stupid for getting it in the first place. So they admire them for a while until they get old and notice that immaturity is over and when they get old and wrinkly they'll be soooo embarresed. Imagine being old and wrinkly and have a tattoo. Pretty embarrassing, huh? That's my theory. Sry if this doesn't answer you question.

A tattoo becomes a part of your body, I guess that is the reason people are sooooooooo fascinated by it.

Narcissism is not really a new phenomena.

I've never understood the concept of 'personal expression' by copying everyone else or following a fad. For example bikers are just as fashion concious as any teenage high schooler, or hollywood idol - its just a different fashion choice.
