No, ms annabelle, I don't. On the contrary, I'm happy for those who have reached their goals and they have my highest respects and admiration. And while I struggle to fulfill my dreams and ambitions, these people who have made it serve as my inspiration and role models. Nothing important is achieved without sacrifice and I believe they too struggled to reach the pinnacle of success. Therefore, I am willing to do the same. I feel no resentment at all...just pure approval!

The way for people not to feel bad about other people reaching their goals is to do goals in parts.

Thus, your goal at a certain period could be to finish high school with higher than average grades. Then the next goal could be to get a college diploma.

The next goal could be to get an office job that pays xxx amount, at least. Then you could aim to be a supervisor at yyy period, etc etc.

This way, you can celebrate your successes. And be happy to move on to the next goal.

Finally, do not compare yourself with others (Desiderata). Measure your own successes based on how you have set your goals.

I would say I am more succesful than Jaime Zobel de Ayala, without batting an eyelash. That is because the road I traveled is longer, more difficult, and more circuitous. Yet, JAZA had all doors open for him at Ayala, their own company. Poor guy, he never savored life's challenges.

i don't really feel outright destructive envy, but it reminds me that i'm lazy and don't do what i need to do, and that i just want to relax now. it makes me think about working harder but i never do.
