Sure there is, and every group of people in the US is part of it!

American 'CULTURES' is the plural for, say, a German or Spanish culture. And, I think, very accurate. Our country was 'invaded' by its eventual inhabitants from all directions, and has as many cultures, if not more, as there are in the world. The continuing inter-marriage of these various cultures is the geometric conglomeration which, as you put it, the American 'cultures'.

There is, but there are also predominate sub-cultures.

Large cities especially on the coasts tend to have a similar culture, while the interior tends to be a bit different. The deep south has it's culture, and the "bible belt" intersects in a way with that and others. Then there is a fuzzy line between western verse east coast culture...

There are distinct Native American cultures, but nowadays, America has so many people of so many backgrounds there is no clear-cut "American" culture
