Its about a girl who moves to the US from Barbados and she goes to live with relatives during the witch trials and she befriends an old lady who is accused of being a witch. I want to say that she goes to live with the puritans but I can't remember. All I remember is that one of her relatives cannot walk. In the end, the old lady's house gets burned down and the main character has to save her.

The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth Speare. I loved the main character's name so much, I named my daughter after her.
