Very super Faint line in pregnancy test...does it mean anything?

First off a little background...I'm 8 DPO and I'm testing with "early" tests which say they can detect pregnancy at 6-8 DPO.

I took 1 test this afternoon, read it at 3 minutes and forgot about it...at 20 minutes I remembered and checked again...no real reason why, I just looked....there was a very very faint test line, I blew it off as an evap line, but decided to test again a few hours later...this time I noticed a VERY VERY faint line at 3 minutes....I showed dh and he saw it too ( after squinting for a sec) we waited and then did 2 more tests....both are the same...it's SO faint you really have to look just right....but it's there...in the same exact spot on all the tests...just super light...I mean so light at fist glance it looks like a negitive...you have to look for the line and then you notice a really faint line running top to bottom...what does it mean?!!!! we are testing again in the morning but I'm so excited that I really need some feed back so I can sleep...haha

I tried another test, this one with tap water and I also got a very faint line...it matched exactly to the ones I saw before.
However this morning after several days of faint lines I got a bfp. This time it was truely pink...before it almost looked like a shadow.
Since it also showed up with water I'd highly sujest running a comarision check with water before anyone assumes a line is a line! Either that or wait a few more days. thanks everyone.

It means you are most likely pregnant. You should go to sleep! Wake up tomorrow morning and with you first urine, test again. Your urine is more concentrated in the mornings and the test could detect the hormone better.

I also used the first response brand of pregnancy test and I took 4 of them because I wasn't sure whether or not it was positive. But I too had the very faint pink line on all 4. I ended up buying a digital test so that it wuld tell me for sure "pregnant" or "not pregnant" and there would be no more guessing. And sure enough I was pregnant! Good luck!

Have you tested again, are you pregnant?? The same thing happened to me today, I took a early pregnancy test and I saw one bold line and then my husband and I noticed another line, although it was VERY faint in the display window.....we are wondering what that means...I am 8 dpo, I am hoping this means I am pregnant but if not thats ok, we will just try again!

Congratulations! I would say as long as you checked it within the time limit you are pregnant. I know when I tested for my pregnancy with my son, it was the same. At first glance there was no line but upon close inspection there was a very faint line and sure enough as time went on the line got darker and I was very definitely pregnant. Congratulations again. Now sit back and enjoy the ride.

My very early test at 7 dpo was so faint you had to squint to see the line. I took one everyday for a week until the line was much darker. My doctor told em not to take these test again becasue 50% of these very early pregnancies miscarry before your period is due.

I've noticed this sometimes too - I think I'm just seeing a very very faint outline of where the line would show up. Trust me, I've squinted and squinted, hoped and hoped, and I think that's just what it is. I can't say that's the case for you, but that's just my guess. Try again in a few days. Good luck to you!

Wow I can't believe how many people are telling you you're pregnant! I'm really shocked. Honey, I tell ya, I've 'seen' the same thing and I'm sure not pregnant (sadly).

From what I have heard any line whether faint or dark means your pregnant. I agree with checking again in the morning, but I would def. say, yes, your pregnant!!

usually, a line is a line. faint or bold, your test did tell you that you are pregnant! now, i would recommend you buy a different brand and test again in two days. the hcg horomone doubles every 48 hours!

you should retest in 2 days time...if you are then the preg hormone doubles each day.............if you waited longer than the time frame and then got a positive it would then be a false positive and you wouldnt be...but you did check within time frame so i would say you are even if its a faint line .....retest though in 2 days time ...then you will know for sure...good luck

Congrats Hun, IT sounds like you are indeed pregnant. I did 9 test, before i realized i was pregnant. I got my positive at 6dpo, but i was carrying twins!
