Trick question. It hasn't yet. See website link below. Apparently, only about 5% of its people want independence. There will be no independence while the number is that low.

As part of France, French Guiana is a part of the European Union's territory, and it's currency is the Euro Dollar.

i.e. French Guiana has not gained its independence from France.
