I really want to go to the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Here's my situation:
My highest ACT score is a 24. My subscores within that 24 are: English 26 and Math 25.
As for UIC's placement test they require the following subscores to be exempt from the tests. http://www.uic.edu/depts/counselctr/testing/Testing_Programs/PEP/exemptions/PEP_exemptions_elsa.htm

My second highest is a 23 in which my subscores were: English: 29 and Math: 24.
I am a prospective pre-med student and i really don't want to be taking prep classes in college which i woud not be recieving credit for if i do bad on those placement tests. (They say you can not use a calculator on the math test and that's an issue for me)
So, what I would like to know is which score i should send. As far as applying goes, my gpa is about a 4.3 (on a 5.0 scale) and 40%ile.

Here is the link to see the average freshman statistics at UIC...

I know most of you are probably thinking im an idiot for questioning which of the two scores i should send...but honestly im really scared about the placement tests. I dont want to waste any time in college.

As far as math goes I know I dont have any worryingto do about that because i need to take the placement test but for English I have a way out.

FYI, i am in AP English and so i MAY or MAY NOT (its very hard) recieve the AP credit and might not have to worry about my ACT at all but that's all the way in May.

Would someone tell me if I'll be fine on the placement tests if i did pretty average on the act.....

thanks!

This has a very easy answer -- send both scores. The admissions department can then decide which score will give you the best advantage. We do that all time -- it's very rare to have an applicant submit just one set of scores.

You can send both scores. In the worst case scenario, you'll have to take both semesters of English. For math, you can place into the required course. I managed to get into calculus by taking the math placement exam with no calculator. The placement tests aren't that bad.
Contact the department about what the rules are if you have multiple ACT scores.
You can e-mail the admissions office.
