Technically nothing would happen if she married Dodi. The whole stink about her dating him was only about the fact that he was a Muslim, and Egyptian at that. The powers that be considered that it would be a huge embarrassment to have the mother of the future King of England married to someone whose father is considered such a shady character by the Establishment. Nothing would happen to Prince Charles, William and Harry would still be in line for the throne, if Diana had another son or any child by Dodi they would have no title, and would have no claim on the throne. The next King would be Charles, followed by William. It would have been interesting though, to see how this all would have played out although I myself think she would have dumped him because once he hooked up with her all his secrets would have come out and she would have had no choice. A lot of not so nice things were said about Dodi about not paying bills, doing drugs, not having any ambition in life and simply living off of daddy's money. There's no way Diana would have allowed her reputation to be tarnished by having that connection...

If Princess Diana had married Dodi Al-Fayed..
- Prince Charles, as the eldest son of the current Queen, would still be next in line for the throne.
- Princes William and Harry, as Charles' sons would remain next in line. They are the Queen's grandsons.
-If Diana had had a son by Dodi- he would have been William and Harry's half brother. He would have no claim to the throne whatsoever.
- The last question is answered above- prince Charles would be the next king.

None of the royal family or their places in line for the throne would have been affected at all if Princess Diana had married Dodi Fayed.

People have said for years now that it would have had a big impact on the royals, but I honestly don't see how.

Diana herself had no claim or right to the throne, and her sons have their claim through Prince Charles, NOT through her.

Any child Diana had with Dodi Fayed or the man in the moon would have no claim whatsoever on the throne.

It would have been no better or worse than any other divorced parent remarrying and having a second family with their new partner.

It may have been hurtful to the other family members on a personal level, but on a public level, and certainly as regards the rights to the throne it would not have mattered even a tiny bit!

Cheers :-)

Diana's relationship with Dodi has nothing to do with the royal line. Charles will take the throne from his mother Queen Elizabeth II when she dies or decides to 'retire' and pass the throne onto her eldest son. Likewise, Charles, will pass the throne onto his eldest son, William.
If Diana had lived, Prince Charles status would not have changed. He would have married Camilla, and he would have become King of England. Charles' sons, William and Harry in that order are the next in line to the throne. William will inherit the throne from his father, as he is the eldest son.
If William has a son, his son will take the throne after William retires or dies. If however, William has no son, William's brother Harry would become King. Unless there are changes that allow for a daughter of William to inherit the throne from him.
If Diana had had a child with Dodi Al Fayed, it would simply be a Fayed child. Nothing more or less. Not British royalty.
Diana's title might have changed if she remarried, but that never happened, so we do not know for certain what that might have been.

Believe it or not. Nothing. I can't really say this enough...what does her private life have anything to do with the royal family after the divorce? I really don't understand where all these irrational speculations are coming from.

What would happen to Prince Charles?
Diana started to date Dodi Al Fayed after her divorce in1996. When she left the royal family she is free to marry whom ever she wants. She is not a royal member meaning the Queen has no control over Diana after the divorce. When two people divorces, it means they go their separate ways. Prince Charles was quite contempt to leave Diana and be with his longtime lover Camilla. Hes gonna become King and live his life and do whatever that he does. Whatever Diana decides to do after the divorce is her right and free will and will not affect Prince Charles in any way.

What about the 2 sons from Prince Charles?
Prince William is 2nd in line and Prince Harry is 3rd in line. Why? Because they are both male heirs and grandsons to Queen Elizabeth II. They are royalty and styled as His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales. Prince William is designated to be the future king of England.

What if she had another son from Dodi?
She will give birth and live happily ever after with Dodi. She was not a princess in her own right nor was she a princess of the blood meaning she is NOT in line to the English throne, she has no claim to the English throne. However, she was born into an aristocrat family and inherited the title of Lady Diana Spencer at the time of her birth, and when she marries a commoner like Dodi, their offspring will also be a commoner, and Dodi will remain a commoner. Diana will be allowed to keep her inherited title as "Lady Diana Al Fayed."

Who would be the next king of england?
The next king of england is Prince Charles after Queen Elizabeth II. Prince William is 2nd in line as mentioned above.
A lot of people suggested that Diana was murdered because she was pregnant, I really don't see how the unborn child will shake the foundation of the British monarchy. If Diana has no claim to the English throne and Dodi is just a commoner... I don't see how their offspring is going to change the line of succession.

I absolutely have no clue where people are getting these idea from unless they didn't understand how the royal line of succession is created and carried through.

- Prince Charles would still be first in line to succeed his mother Queen Elizabeth II
- The position of the 2 sons would not change
- A son by Dodi would not be in line for the throne at all, Diana was only a "royal" by marriage, As is Prince Phillip the Queen's husband.. Hence he is not "King Phillip"
- The next King of Great Britain (not just England) is and will remain Prince Charles, and only upon his death will it then fall to Prince William.

If she married Dodi, the two of them would have globe-trotted.

It has already resolved that Charles would have had major custody (the Queen more likely) of the boys.

William is and was and will be in line for the throne unless he gives it up or dies.

another son from Dodi would not have had a title in the UK, I believe, unless William at some point gave him a title, since he would have been his 1/2 brother.

Charles would have done the Dance of Joy and been thrilled if she had married Dodi, it would have freed him up for Cammie.

The current order of succession is: Prince Charles, Prince Harry, Prince William, Prince Andrew (Charles' younger brother), Princes Beatrix, Princess Eugenie (The children of Prince Andrew & his wife), Prince Edward (Prince Charles' youngest brother, and the Princess Royal, Princess Anne( younger sister of Prince Charles; older than Andrew & Edward.). There are a number of others in line after these heirs. A fairly recent change in the rules of succession, by the way, states that after the current younger generation of royals, the eldest child of the reigning monarch will succeed to the throne, regardless of gender. No child of Diana Spencer other than her two sons by Prince Charles would be in any way eligible to succeed to the throne; they would not be of royal blood.

She would be Diana Al Fayed, I guess.
What about them?
Then she would be Dodi's son's mother.
One of Charle's sons would be king. Dodi would have no connection to the throne of England.

The only thing different in your scenario would be Diana would be alive and married. There would be no change in position for Prince Charles or their sons. They were the heirs to the throne from the moment of their births, and nothing can change that.
