Its a normal stage that most of them go to, it can last up to 2 weeks

They're scared in a new, strange place. But be sure your water temp is warm enough, etc. If you're having to replace the turtles it might be that something isn't supporting them very well. Turtles are more challenging to keep that it would seem. They need UV light, warm water, Vitamin A and stuff like that.

OMG! do no longer launch that turtle. human beings freeing their RES pets exterior the organic variety have been to blame for fouling up the habitat for the nearby turtles, a number of that are threatened or endangered. i'm afraid that somebody already did that close to you if there are babies wandering around loose. RES require a minimum of 10 gallons of water in step with inch of shell and that they strengthen rapidly. They feed interior the water and the babies are carnivorous. attempt earthworms, bait fishes, and liver -- no vegetables until they mature.

this is a hard call to make as i don't know where they came from or what their enclosure looks like. What i can tell you is that hiding and not eating is a sign of stress though it if it has been two weeks and they have eaten a small amount i wouldn't worry how ever if this continues over to three weeks i may be a bit worried. Also if you have made any attempt to handle them this may have to do with it.

Yes, that is quite normal. Please check your setup to make sure you are meeting their needs. Here's an excellent website to start with:
