In my honors english 3 class we have lit circles (like a mini book club we are forced to do)
My group has F451 and i am the artistic director.
We want to do a display of some books "burning"
So far my only idea is to take like 3 "banned" books and position them on some plywood, then to attatch with a pipe cleaner some red, and multiple shades of arange, and a little bit of white tissue paper. I fear that this will look tacky.

Any better ideas? Any ways that i can make my current idea appear more profesional looking? what is a goodway to make tissue paper look like fire?

You could rig up a little screen on legs, put your books on the screen and a fan underneath, blowing up through the screen. Tie crepe paper or strips of lightweight fabric to the screen and the fan will make it flicker and wave. Use a 12-inch electric fan, not the tiny hand-held.

I'm sorry you feel like you are being forced to read. Honors is not for everyone.

make a fire shaped tissue paper by drowning it on water thean shape it in a way that you want. you can add also paper to make the shape better,...then dry it under the sun!!!!
>>>then color it with something very warm in the eyes to appear fiery!!! i'm sure that will be a professional looking project!
