What were the politics based on and did they have slaves?

During the Colonial Period, slavery was legal in all of the colonies. Not everyone had slaves, of course. They were expensive to own and maintain, so I would say they were probably limited to the upper class and upper middle class.

Politics consisted of everything being run by a Governor, pretty much appointed by the King, and answerable only to the king.

Allright, I just had a test on this kind of thing. I'll just kind of tell you everything I know. The middle colonies were known as the bread baskets, they had religious freedom, their main leaders were merchants and bankers (i think) and I'm not sure if they had slaves or not. The economy was based on farming/agriculture/commerce. The capitol was Philidelphia (I'm pretty sure). I hope that helps.
